Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz pasta penne or rotini
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 15 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
