Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onion; sauté until the onion is translucent.
Add sliced zucchini and sauté for about 5 minutes until they are slightly tender.
Stir in the chickpeas, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat, and stir in half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until well combined.
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Top the mixture with breadcrumbs and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan toppings.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
