Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the shrimp by patting them dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  • In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk and shrimp, allowing them to marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, dip it back into the buttermilk, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Place the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't overcrowded.
  • Air fry the shrimp for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • While the shrimp cooks, combine mayonnaise and sweet chili sauce to create the Bang Bang sauce.
  • Warm the tortillas in a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  • Assemble tacos by placing shrimp in tortillas, drizzling with Bang Bang sauce, and garnishing with cilantro.
